After the surface of kraft paper and corrugated paper is treated with silica sol, it can improve the slip resistance of the paper, reduce the sliding of the stacking layer during transportation, and improve the moisture resistance and strength of the paper. In the manufacturing of non gray copy paper, using silica sol instead of clay, talc powder, and silica powder coatings can make its color more vivid. Perforated cards used in electronic computers, coated with silica sol, can have high stability, slip resistance, and good printability.
